don't tell my husband...

but I'm in love. Actually, I'll tell him myself in just a little bit, so it's ok.
I bought the new U2 album today as a delayed birthday present, and really, it was worth it. I feel like I would be much too biased to give an objective review of the album after listening through it just once, but I will say that with their last album, All That You Can't Leave Behind, I eventually got tired of listening to it. It's probably my least favorite of their albums. This one tho, I don't think so. It's a little more rock 'n' roll than the last one, that might help. I had fallen in love with Vertigo when they started playing it on the radio, but I think I have a new favorite song, Yahweh. It's got all the elements of a classic U2 song, the lyrics, the sound, and of course, it's about something you know that Bono believes in, so he sings from his heart. So in the spirit of inspiring others to possibly purchase this fine piece of musical composition, here are the lyrics to my new favorite song:
Take these shoes
Click clacking doen some dead end street
Take these shoes and make them fit
Take this shirt
Polyester white trash made in nowhere
Take this shirt and make it clean, clean
Take this soul
Stranded in some skin and bones
Take this soul and make it sing

Yahweh, Yahweh
Always pain before a child is born
Yahweh, Yahweh
Still I'm waiting for the dawn

Take these hands
Teach them what to carry
Take these hands don't make a fist
Take this mouth
So quick to criticize
Take this mouth give it a kiss

Yahweh, Yahweh
Always pain before a child is born
Yahweh, Yahweh
Still I'm waiting for the dawn

Still waiting for the dawn, the sun is coming up
The sun is coming up on the ocean
This love is like a drop in the ocean
This love is like a drop in the ocean

Yahweh, Yahweh
Always pain before a child is born
Yahweh, tell me now
Why the dark before the dawn

Take this city
A city should be shining on a hill
Take this city if it be your will
What no man can own, no man can take
Take this heart
Take this heart
Take this heart
And make it break
