the latest countdown

for the last 2 weeks, i've been counting down to december 21st because it's the shortest day of the year. As of Thursday the 22nd, the days will start getting longer and that makes me happy. As much as I enjoy the snow and don't mind the cold so much, I hate how short the days get. And it's not even that the sun sets earlier, it's that it rises later. It makes it SO MUCH HARDER to get up in the morning, knowing that I'll be at work for a good 1/2hr before it's very light outside. So Thursday, I can make it to Thursday, then I'll know in the back of my mind that in just a few weeks, the sunrise will inch closer to the point where I can actually see it on my way in.
