i got in!

yesterday i was informed via e-mail that my credit card was going to be charged $53.23 by a company with whom i was quite unfamiliar. It took me a second to confirm that it was marathonguide.com, and the amount was the total (plus processing fee) cost of the 10mile run for the Twin Cities Marathon. I made it! It was a lottery, so there was a chance that I wouldn't get in. Erica called me yesterday, it's the only way I would have known to look for the e-mail.

Unfortunately, she didn't get in, that's why she called. It sours the whole experience, honestly, we've had so much fun running together and getting to know each other and the hills along the Mississippi River. She's going to look for another 10 mi or half-marathon that she can run, which is nice, I'd hate to lose my running partner for lack of motivation....

Congratulations. Of course, to me, this post translated to "I just found out I get to drill screws into my lungs"... But, really, I'm happy for you.

Yippee! Someone to cheer for! That happened to me 3 years ago. My training partner didn't get in, but I still ran. I got bored so my sister ended up running the last 4 miles with me. It was AWESOME! One of the best experiences of my life. Run, Ann, Run!

Can't wait to cheer you on like you did for me at the marathon a few years ago!

I'll bring my new jogging stroller. Maybe run a mile or so with you :)

Hooray!
That was the other part I was curious about - how do you recruit a cheering section? Come see me pass you by, and then move somewhere else so it can happen again, it'll be great! I knew I could obligate Mr. R, but other than that, I wasn't really sure...

kg, I would love it if you ran with me a little while! I can't have headphones or mp3 players on the course. That's just dumb. I'm sure there are practical reasons, but it's still dumb.
