for all the times i wish i could just up and find a new job, there are days when i realize what a good situation i have.
For instance:
-I have access to the internet at my desk, with NO restrictions, no internet police, nothing. Granted, we get a little carried away sometimes (especially when things are slow) and hear about it from the Boss Ladies every now and then, but I'm pretty sure no one's going to be yanking our websurfing priviledges away anytime soon.
-We have regular potluck lunches where just bringing in something to share entitles me to 2-3 days of free lunch and snacks. Not too shabby.
-I do work in the same building complex as Christine, last week is likely not to be the last time that we meet together for a break in the work day and a snack from the little store. Maybe we'll even do lunch sometime!
-Our little group of workers is pretty close. We're all friends, there's no real drama that goes on here. The Boss Ladies are interested in us and supportive with things like illnesses and are willing to work with anyone that needs time off, etc.
and the latest (and possibly the greatest) addition to the list:
-as of yesterday we're on permanent casual dress in the office! Our Dept. Manager had granted it for the summer, and said we did really well respecting it and not showing up all junky looking, so she said we can keep it up! It makes such a difference, I don't own a lot of "business casual" stuff, and it's so much easier to wear jeans and t-shirts and stuff. So now I can.
Now if they could only set me up to work from home....

Excluding the potlucks and the Christine, those are all things Cigna used to have but then changed to the non-fun way. I'm jealous.
well, we are looking for someone to come work here, but I'm wondering if the salary might not be very competitive. It's quite entry level, tho experience and college education does count for something...
I'm quite entry level here, where experience and college education count for very little. Sounds like we've got conversation #5 taken care of too.
I didn't actually find you on Friday to have conversation #4, how are we possibly going to fit in all this talking?!?!
