what's the best way to prepare for a 10-mile race and the 1st small group of the season, physically, mentally, and emotionally? Why, go to Dallas for 2 days, of course!!
I've been thinking about this trip for awhile, a chance to visit our corporate office and see "the other side" of what I do in my office here - there's lots of questions that I get asked but don't have answers to; so now I have some more answers. It was good, I'm glad I got to go. I wasn't really expecting much when I brought up the idea earlier this month, but was told to plan it out! So I did, and this week was when it worked, and I wasn't much thinking of what else was happening around it. That is, until this week when I realized how many other things I wanted to get done that would have to be pushed to the end of the week, or just not done. I thought I was able to handle things like getting my co-leader all the e-mail addresses I had for our girls so she could send out directions to her place for Sunday. Then I got back into work today to find that I had sent it to the wrong e-mail address and lost 2 days from not having access to my e-mail! I also decided I don't like flying 2 days in a row (not a big fan of flying in general), and that business travel is not something I want to do on a regular basis. Good thing I'll probably never need to.
The best part? I remembered that my friend Spring lives in Dallas and I had the general good sense to put her phone# in my phone when she e-mailed it to me not long ago, so I was able to actually get around on Tuesday night and have dinner out on the town instead of being stuck in a hotel room all night long. Other than that, I'm glad to be home and connected to people again and hopefully get my head "back in the game"! I've got to make sure I'm up to both running a race and leading a small group on Sunday. Yikes!

Good luck Sunday!
Welcome Home!!
So, how'd it go?
I would have loved to cheer you on, but for a myriad of reasons, I wasn't able to make it out - but I was thinking of you and hoping for the best!
