boo.
Boo to our building complex. They make a big whoop-de-doo about the demolition of the old theater and the new project that they'll be working on, so we're all excited, right? We get the popcorn, and the hot cocoa, and on the way down, we see a big machine with a shovel tearing into the building. That's sweet.
10 minutes later, after buying a Whatchamacallit in the little boutique, I bring Christine back to our vantage point so she can watch the demolishing for a little bit too.
But there's nothing to see.
On the way down, there was a small crowd of people taking pictures and watching from across the street. On the way back - nothing. No machine, no people, nothing. There's a demolished doorway, and that's all.
On Tuesday morning when I was driving to work - nothing.
Tuesday at lunch going to play Skip-bo with Christine - nothing. The most we saw were some guys walking on the roof of the part to be demolished and taking down what tooked like a fence to the vents or something.
Coming home from work on Tuesday afternoon - nothing. Not a single change has taken place.
I guess I didn't really look too closely when I was reading the information about the demolition, they sure didn't mention an anticipated date when this would be completed. Apparently, they're not too worried...Maybe they were waiting for the long weekend when the building would be closed so they actually could use small amounts of explosives without disrupting too much. Maybe it's going to be part of their new year's resolution, so they can't do anything to it now.
Maybe it's the theater itself. It's been closed for awhile, and a couple years back, they were actually going to make it into a cinemagrill. They had put up a new sign and everything, you could see people working, lights on and all. Then a few months later, the sign was down, and the gates were closed, the lights were off. So maybe there's something (someone?) in that theater that won't let anything be changed, that will go to any lengths to sabotage any new development ideas...I'll get Christine and start working on theories right away.

Now I'm scared.
Just an update to say that it's now the following Monday and it's still just that gaping hole. At least I assume so, I didn't really look.
yeah, that's it. Apparently they're taking the holidays off...
