i hope.
today I came into the office to look on my desk and see that I was invited to a party this afternoon. From time to time our building has thrown little "tenant parties" to help us feel appreciated, or something. It's usually quarterly breakfasts, or the big tenant picnic in the summer time. They'll probably do something Christmasey next month with carolers and stuff too, just like always.
But today? Today's celebration is different.
There will be no Turkey carols, there will be no cranberry sauce, even though the timing is right. There will only be hot cocoa and cider served along with popcorn so that we can all watch the empty theater be demolished.
Seriously, we've been invited to a demolition party. How cool is this??
We all were tossing around ideas of if they were going to turn the defunct theater into a snack bar area or an exercise facility (both at once? why not??) And it appears that they're only going to be repositioning the main entrance to the building. Kind of a drag, but at least they're going to let us watch it all go down.
And then? Before I head back up to finish work, I'm cashing in on the free candy bar or ice cream treat coupon they gave us last week when they pulled a fire alarm in the middle of November. It took us 5 minutes, but we get free candy. Who am I to complain? I am loving my workplace right about now...
