i don't know if this is irony, or hypocrisy, or something else altogether, but i had to chuckle the other day driving home. I was behind a lovely new H3, with it's stunning 20mpg on the highway and 10.60 tons of annual greenhouse emissions:


and I couldn't help but notice the "Critical Habitat" license plate that the Hummer was sporting:

Who knows, maybe the owner is trying to atone for the cost of his or her car on the environment by chipping in a few extra bucks every year when the tabs get renewed, but I'm not sure that's really going to do the trick...
