update schmupdate

alright Tim Potter, you win. I have been sorely remiss in not posting anything new lately, although I'll admit no one's missing a whole lot of huge revelations from my life's happenings right now. Our power was restored roughly 36 hours after it was lost, so that was good. And I realized yesterday that my husband is brilliant, or just really resourceful. It's really been quite warm the last couple days, so much so that I agreed to the running of our AC because it was 80 degrees in our house and quite uncomfortable. So we turned it on and waited. There was cool air blowing from the vents, but the temperature on our thermostat actually rose. 81....82....by yesterday morning it was 84, and walking outside into the low 70s was a treat.

So I came home yesterday and called my dad, because who else would you call for free advice about home appliances you've never had to deal with before? So I talked with him a little while, he provided some suggestions of where to start to see if your AC is broken.

As Seth was waking up from his nap that afternoon I was telling him all this, proud that I was so proactive, not waiting for our AC to blow up before figuring that something was wrong. He listened, and then told me that he didn't think any of those things were the problem because, being the intuitive person he is (I wouldn't have thought to do it!) he had gone downstairs to look at the furnace and the power supply and noticed that the AC is on its own breaker, and that breaker happened to be turned off. So, he flipped the switch and turned it on, brilliant man!

I am happy to say that I woke up this morning shivering because it was 72 chilly degrees in my house after it had been cooling down all night long.

God bless air conditioning!

oh, and another update - we're going to Cornerstone next week - Are you jealous Tim Potter?

So hopefully after next week I'll be able to tell wonderous stories of adventures and many awesome concerts.
