yet another reason to add under the category of "why october is glorious" or "why this is a really great week":
I just got a breakdown of how much vacation time I have from now until the end of the year (only 9 weeks away people, oh my goodness!) I can carry one week over into next year, I've asked for the week after Christmas off, and then after that - I've got a week and 3 days, 63hours to be exact.
Apparently, other than the week off in March to go to New Orleans, I've worked every other day this year. Or it really does pay off to stay here 5+ years, because I now have an extra week of vacation time.
That's a lot of time to use within a short period. Also in there is Thanksgiving and Christmas, each contributing their own free days off, making it hard to put my days somewhere. I didn't want to lose almost 2 weeks of vacation time, that's just silliness.
What to do....what to do.....
Then my Supervisor saves the day by suggesting that I could take Fridays off for the rest of the year....
Could I really do that? Is it entirely possible?
Indeed, it is. I had enough to take the next 7 Fridays off (8 really, but the day after Thanksgiving's a freebie) and another day that I tacked on before Thanksgiving. I am looking at working 4 days or less each week until the end of the year, and then the last week of the year I'll be off entirely.
Is life not good? It almost makes it worth that I didn't have any other reason to take vacation time this year....

Wow, that's incredibly cool. :)
Are you going to New Orleans again to help with the Katrina relief effort again?
